Being interested in mount climbing undoubtedly you’ve heard about a snow-capped stratovolcano called Damavand Mountain. As the highest summit in Iran and the third one in Asia and the highest volcano in Asia, you won’t be able to ignore such a white- capped beauty, with the height of 5610 m, the mount easily will stimulate you to step on the peak.
The mount is sitting on the center of Alborz range and the nearest town is Reineh 90 km far from Tehran.
In order to climb the mount, there are four main paths which are different regarding the difficulty of descending. But it is said that the southern one could be the easiest route providing climbers with midway camps. The northeastern path is considered as the hardest and the western one as the longest.
Damavand mountain is considered as a symbol among Iranians, reminding consistency, bravery and has been mentioned in Shahnama written by Ferdousi.
